Day 30 #LivingWithLobular

Nore Dragon Paddlers are a group of Breast Cancer Survivors who paddle dragon boats on the Nore river in Kilkenny.

Of our 36 members 8 are Lobular Breast Cancer survivors.

That’s 22% of our members when the national average for this disease is between 10% and 15%.

Lobular Breast Cancer is different to Ductal Breast Cancer. It does not always show up on Mammograms or Ultrasound which are normally used as screening for Breast Cancer.

In the last 10 years between 3500 and 5250 women were diagnosed with Lobular Breast Cancer.

This is not a small group of women.

This is a group of women who would like up to date screening and research into a disease which affects many.
