Mid Summer Up Date #LivingWithLobular

I just want to highlight some of the ILC Advocacy work that I’ve been involved closely with this year so far as Patient Advocate with http://www.Lobularireland.com and http://www.elbcc.org

A real highlight has been our association with the recently published paper How Researchers, Clinicians and Patient Advocates Can Accelerate Lobular Breast Cancer As founder member of Lobular Ireland I’m enormously proud to be co author on this publication. Full credit to Lead authors Leigh Pate and Prof Steffi Oesterreich for their work on this.

The International Lobular Breast Cancer Symposium #Lobular2021 (virtual) in June was very successful. The Symposium was virtual this year and hosted by The Lobular Breast Cancer Association from the US. The scientific sessions were delivered by leading global ILC Researchers, Researchers and Clinicians. The event kicked off with a specific Patient Orientation session on Day One – a panel of Experts including Prof Steffi Oesterreich, Dr Christine Desmedt and Dr Karen Van Baelan. I had the enormous privilege of Moderating this session – during holidays in the magnificent surroundings of West Cork.

The recorded sessions are now available to view on line Lobular Breast Cancer Symposium Sessions

This week sees the 1st Lobular Breast Cancer Leaflet available on line on the http://www.elbcc.org website. Lobular Breast Cancer Leaflet and Flyer
We’ve been working on this with Patient Advocates from #ELBCC  and Research Scientists from KULevan and Utrecht. As one of the contributors I know I can say we’re immensely proud of this, and we know it will be a wonderful educational and Informative tool for GPs, Nurses, Patients and Clinicians.
A Downloadable link will be made available and the Leaflet will be translated into several European Languages. Huge thanks to every one involved #ELBCC, #LOBSTERPOT and #CA19138
It would be fantastic to see a hard copy made available to all European Patients. The Leaflet will be translated into several European Languages and distributed thereafter.

The date has also been agreed for the ELBCC ILC SYMPOSIUM in Utrecht, June 20th-22nd 2022, hopefully we’ll be able to meet face to face – I’m looking forward to meeting some of our Lobular Community for the first time and meeting others we know well, again, in person.

All in all I’m thrilled to have had so many opportunities to expand the reach of LobuIar Ireland, alongside the International and Irish ILC Research Community.

My very best regards to you all for the rest of the Summer – on behalf of Lobular Breast Cancer Ireland
